HOW PLAYERS ARE ASSIGNED TO TEAMS

Updated Friday May 25, 2018 by Plainfield Junior Cats.

ASSESSMENT

Players go through a conditioning and evaluation period (PJC BOOT CAMP) at the beginning of the season.  During this time, the Head Coaches of each Travel team are tasked with evaluating and assessing players in order to select those players who demonstrate the skill and temperament desired for the various teams at the travel level.

SELECTION AND ASSIGNMENT

Players selected for travel are assigned to a team based on age.

Remaining players are then drafted and assigned to our popular In-House program.  In-House Commissioners pool these players and conduct a fair draft selection, based on skill sets, in order to assign players to individual teams.
